Signs a slab leak has already spread
A hot water leak often shows up first as a warm patch underfoot. A cold water leak is quieter: a water bill that climbs, a meter that moves with every fixture off, or carpet that feels damp along a wall with no fixture nearby.
- Engineered wood and laminate start to cup or lift at the seams.
- Tile grout darkens and stays dark.
- Baseboard and the bottom of drywall swell or stain from below.
The slab leak warning signs check scores these in a minute, and the EPA WaterSense leak page shows how to read a meter for a leak.
